Just speaking about my Discovery2 2004 pump, my replacement one I got from Carquest is Bosch which is exactly the same as the original. I do not know about the Discovery1 pump could be a different ball of wax.

Instead of designing a pump to withstand a crushed fuel tank would it have been smarter to beef up a protection plate around the tank?????
