wait......you shouldn't need to remove the panel to install a ladder. everyone that I have seen just slides over the top of the door and bolt away.

Today this will happen.

In other news, had my first run in with the SES on this truck. Romped on the truck leaving my parents. TC activated, and I ended up with a miss. SES came on, blinked a few times. I cut the truck off, restarted....misfire gone. SES still one. GF drove the truck yesterday, SES off.

Also discovered a nice leak, running down the trans cooler line and dripping on the left cat. Maybe ATF, I think it's oil. Going to investigate while I swap out the front prop-shaft.

Also, my old key was missing the lock button. Got a new housing with the truck, swapped the board into the new housing and noticed the lock microswitch was missing the button portion. So I found replacements on ebay for like $8 shipped, or I can get bags of 100 for less, but I won't ever need these again, so yeah.

Also, I'm going to add a trans dipstick.

Crawling under there to check/top up trans fluid is ridiculous.

Trans kits are the same D1 to D2, so I could do that. Probably easiest way.

While I'm here, what's the deal with retrofitting options from other trucks onto mine? Mines pretty poverty spec, no sunroof, front fog lamps, etc....

Mainly I want heated seats and heated windscreen.

I do this with BMWs all the time. It's usually a plug n play deal. Cruise ctrl, heated/power seats, memory functions.....etc....

Heated seats, I assume I'd need the buttons, console, any leather seat.....worst case the wiring harness....but if these are like BMWs, they're all pre-wired for the top of the line. Doesn't make sense to make 50 different harnesses.....

Windscreen, I have the plugs under the cowl, so I guess I'd just need the windscreen and button?

Maybe if I get uber ambitious rear AC is a thing too....but IDK if I'm going to go that far. 3rd row seats I will have to get my hands on though.

rear ac sounds like a very ambitious goal, but doable. seats and stuff is going to be easy enough. same deal, wires are there. just need the goods and switches
