I am looking for help I just got an 04 Disco bone stock, runs well low miles (118k) I would like to make it a very capable off-road rig...so I am looking for directional advice, parts that you no longer use, referrals to services, heck any and everything...I know this is an exclusive but deep community so let this Chevy man in...and help me out...where do I begin...I'm open and I'm listening

Welcome to the forum. Before you start buying offroad gear, I recommend focusing on runability first. You need to get the disco in known state of maintenance. If you don't have a good history on it, I would do the following:
  1. Replace all fluids including transmission, transfer and differentials
  2. Replace spark plugs and wires
  3. Flush coolant and replace with green.
  4. Do Extinct's inline thermostat
  5. Grease all zerk fittings
  6. Replace front driveshaft
  7. Replace oil and air filter
  8. Do the Inline PCV mod
  9. Replace O2 sensors (walker or NGK)

Go to the "build" section of the forum, lots of great off road build projects there.

Number one priority is keep the engine cool. If you keep it cool you will avoid much of the heartache you hear about Land Rovers. Do the in-line thermostat or 180 degree thermostat. My vote is in-line.

Second priority is replace the front drive shaft. Still having the factory one on after 100,000 miles is a ticking time bomb to destroy your transmission.

After that replace fluids and start having fun.
