Ok here is where it settled out.

Lession learned check your stuff out before you buy it.

The wonderful staff at Ed's Rover Service in Franklin TN took me under their wing and are taking care of me.

What I liked best was that they listened to me and helped me work out my decision. I highly recommend them.

Decided to do the repairs instead of engine swap. Atleast after doing the repairs I will be sure of where I stand with the head gaskets etc.

The savings was significant over what the dealer wanted to do the work. Nearly $2000 less.

Truck will be back in a couple of days.

Thanks for all your help

Glad you are getting things taken care of. Really think you'll be happy with the truck once the sting of the repairs goes away.

It's pretty obvious when you find a real Rover enthusiast in a mechanic, isn't it? My mechanic is the same way.

Excellent point. I honestly was nervous about it too until I decided to bite the bullet and have the HG done, even though it was an external leak or more of as seepage that I could have very well lived with for a few years. Still surprise that you have to pay for it though !!!
