So I just purchased a 99-discovery se II, 80,000. When I first start up the bad boy, I hear a rushing sound of water under the left hand side of the firewall, any ideas? Also, when I accelerate and quickly let off the gas I hear a clanging sound coming from the rear of the vehicle, but most noticeably when I floor it then let off quickly. Is this common?

The sound of rushing water sounds like its your heater, maybe partly blocked?

the clunk is normal and worse when it is in 3rd.

I have heard the clunk sevearl times, its normal with the discoveries we see here in the shop.
