new radiator
I'm replacing the radiator and have noticed a wide range in prices e.g. $228 for a "Silla" brand and $457 for a "Nissen" brand. Anyone have any experience with either brand, or a recommendation for any brand that is a good, functional replacement?
I was just going through this with my radiator. I found a radiator shop, that recored and resealed mine for $75.00. Mine is from a 97 which is all metal, not sure on the 2000. Thought you might be interested to know.
Thanks guys for the sources. I got a quote from a shop for $1600, which included radiator, hoses, t-stat, anti-freeze, clamps and multi-rib fan belt ($917 radiator cost only) so apparently he really didn't want the work! I'm doing the work myself anyway but was just curious what an independent shop would want. Can't imagine the dealer wanting much more though! I'll post back if there's anything peculiar about this project.
I just got a catalog from Atlantic British that has two radiators, one listed for D2's with air injection and one without. May be a dumb question to some but what is this "air injection"?
I doubt your 2000 has Secondary Air Injection, an emission control device.
I am surprised to see that there are 2 different ones, don't know why the SAI would have any effect on the radiator used.

Go to Atlanticbritsh.com and check out the "tech tips" and you can see if you have SAI or not.
Thanks Mike and Spike. Always something new on these Landy's. As much as I love my truck I sure appreciate my old pre-emissions Corvette and Ford pickup when it comes to repair time especially on items like alternators, plug wires, fan belts, and radiators.
