new rear shock mount location?

you can save a butt ton of cash on a welder if you do small amounts of welding and suffer the duty cycle. I have larger machines for hours of welding on big projects (fences, trailers, etc), but for small jobs (bracket, little grill guards, patches, etc) I use a smaller, wire feed, more portable, hobart 190. it only has a 30% duty cycle. it is rare that I have to wait on it. I can run it off my smaller generators.
if i needed a machine for auto projects only, I would not drop the cash on the larger machines. I'd use the savings and get those shocks .
I have used one of the hf ones, that a friend has. It works fine, on steel under 1/4".
this guy.....180 Amp MIG/Flux Wire Feed Welder
reviews on weldingweb....if you want to wade through those

I couldn't really say if the 13" will be compact enough. I guess it all depends on where you and how you decided to mount the lower shock mount.
What does your current shock setup measure eye to eye (compressed and extended)?

In theory you could raise the shock mount up and run a shorter shock and get the same suspension travel, like you would put spacers on a 2" spring to gain a 3" lift.
but for the time/money I say brace it, and run the same shocks. A lot of other trucks would've broke stuff going through the mud you went through.
Also, this would be a good time update your winch thread on how well it performed

FOA has the cheapest coil over shocks, springs are sold separately in most cases, I'm going that route as their warehouse is down the street from where I work. Your coil overs would turn out to be about the same price as those shocks mentioned previously. More clearance, maximum articulation, and they are a conversation piece lol
