You need a roof rack, some tubing and a 55gal drum.... It should extend the range by another 50-60 miles.

Back when I had a bad O2 sensor my gas mileage got really bad like that. The exhaust smelled really rotten too. After I replaced that sensor the mileage came up to 19 on the highway. Anyway, 10 mpg is not normal.

Whatever happened to the old "Jerry Can" type of gas container that used to be a fixture of military jeeps? Wouldn't something like that be cool attached to the back of the Disco? Or not.

I totally agree. You can still find them as well as holder/brackets for the roof rack. Sometimes they're called NATO cans (more PC I guess) and they seem to run around $40. I need to get a couple so I don't run out of gas sitting on the interstate in the next Hurricane Evacuation.

How many miles on your Disco? how fast do you drive? seems like you need a good tune up. use your cruise as much as possible you should get at least 18mpg. tune that big girl up.
