Default No blinkers, stuck in park

On the way to the shop, i noticed my turn signals were not working. I hear no click noise and no arrows lighting on the dash. The hazards do work fine, outside bulbs light and dash lights. After I dropped my rover off to get looked at (other reasons than turn signal, turn signal is new on the way there) they could not get it out of park. Any ideas? My rover is at the shop now, so i will have to wait till later to try your suggestions. I JUST repalced my bulbs with higher wattage bulbs for the turn signals. Not sure if any of this is related to the parking. It starts, and wheel moves fine.

Once your truck is started have someone put thier foot on the brake and check to see if the brake lights are on. If the brake switch goes bad it will not let you put it in gear. To fix your blinkers you will probably have to buy a new turn signal switch.

As for not shifting out of park I would have to say it is the brake light switch, that is the switch that turns on your brake lights when you press the brake pedal.
It also sends a signal to your transmission to allow you to shift out of park.
Start the truck and have a friend press the brake pedal and see if the brake lights work.
As for the turn signals, check the fuse, your higher wattage bulbs may have blown it.
And just a though and not knowing if they use the same fuse or not but if the turns signals and brake lights use the same fuse and it is blown...
