Default No power to fuel pump on '04 DII

Any ideas why I have NO power to the fuel pump when the ignition switch is in Position II. Only power when cranking. NO P codes or Check Engine light showing. Engine cranks but will not start.

Do you have spark? It will only give you spark/fuel if it see's a signal from the CPS.

Sorry I should have mentioned that earlier, I do have a spark. Also replaced fuel pump (filter was clogged) and CPS

You say there is power to the pump when cranking (which is normal). But, you didn't say if you can hear the pump running. You have spark, does it fire up on ether/starting fluid?

Also, a bit of back-story might give us more clues. Like was it running and just quit going down the road, or did you park it and it wouldn't start the next time tried, or was it running before you worked on it and now it's not, etc, etc?

Threw in the towel and got towed to Motor Cars Ltd ( Independent British Car repair in Houston. Good people and great pricing on parts New, Used, OEM Jaguar Parts and Land Rover Parts )

Here was the fix. Got a call from the service manager that my fuel pump was bad and not producing enough pressure at the rail. Really! My "new fuel" had already gone bad after 37 miles! I could hear the pump running but could not find the shreader valve on the fuel rail to check the pressure. The forum tells me it is hard to get to on the D2. No kidding. Couldn't even find the bloody thing!

Motor Cars Ltd had sold me the original pump so they replaced it and 500 miles later truck runs great. Heading to Big Bend NP next weekend to see the Milky Way all all the stars. Darkest skies in the lower 48. Great place for Lucas electrical systems!

Thanks for all the help. Valve gasket replacement next after the New Year. Small leak from RH head on to exhaust manifold. No drips on garage floor

Motorcars LTD isn’t the best place to get LR’s fixed & their parts are $$$$$ IMHO. There is a much better LR Shop up by Spring, TX.

The fuel pump on a D1/D2 is a breeze to find/replace. Good luck on the Big Bend Trip.
