No wipers,washer,fog lights.
My 2000 Disco has suddenly lost all power to wipers and washers (front and back). The front fog lights have also gone. This could just be a coincidence.
I have tried searching lots of other threads but have found no real solution. I have also had someone at a local shop check the fuses and they seem fine.
I am not really sure whwt to do next other than take it to the dealer

.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

My disco had all those problems when I got it. And a couple more, all electrical. Turned out that before I bought it the windshield wipers weren't parking and had burned out the fuse box. I mean, like, half of my fusebox was destroyed, but in the back where I couldn't see it, so I didn't know that was what was wrong until I gave in and took it to my mechanic.
Hopefully you haven't somehow gotten in the same situation I did, the fusebox ended up costing me like $300, though it was pretty effortless to install.

Thanks for the info Dave.
At a loss as to what to do. Might need a visit to a mechanic. Thing is I am working out of town for the winter. I will have to hope I can find a good honest mechanic that knows his way around Discos.

i have a 2001 discovery,i finally broke down and brought it in for service,an independant land rover specialist in dumont, nj,I was going on vacation for 2 weeks, i left the truck on Dec 16th,I returned from vacation and picked up the truck on Dec 31 2010,Ther was a major snowstorm, the truck was outside buried, he was to tune the car up ,and check some misfire faults and the abs lights on the dash keep popping on and off,i picked up the truck paid 840.00 for tune up and a new air mass meter,i was told it was making the truck run rough. after picking up the truck it runs the same as before, all abs loghts and misfire codes in cyl #3 wer still there. i was told my rear windshield wiper motor was no good, he put new blades on front and rear, the rear wiper worked before i brought it in, well when i was driving home i noticed my radio was not working, thought he disconnected battery, and i needed code to get it working., got code, didn;t work, then next day i found my wipers not working, the rear view mirror compass was not working, and my front fog lights are not working. i was told to bring it back.i also have good fuses, and no power in fuse box at those places. coincidence,we have the same problems. do you have any more info on your problems, any help would be appreciated. i do not want to go back to this same mechanic, and give him any more money,i feel he is responsible for my problems. i think he may have put my wipers on when they wer frozen, and may have created these new issues. what do you think?
ps: i know this is very long, hope it is allowed on forum. thanks

I have not had much time to do any more with my problem. However I have tried to find out some more info. I believe that it might been the fusable link could be corroded. I am not even sure what that is but that is what Iwas told could be the cause. I will keep you posted if I manage to get it fixed. Fingers crossed.
Today I called the shop owner at Import Specialist,in Dumont N.J.,asked him if he was going to take responsibility for the electrical problems that happened while the truck was in his shop, He said he wasn' responsible, it could have happened from a leak in the sunroof, and water came in and maybe caused it. I don't even have a sunroof in this truck, i told him i was calling master card ,and filling a complaint, and holding back payment. and
the better business bureau, he said do what you want, and hung up. you were right in your advice,to go back with a lawyer. now I will go to my local mechanic who I trust, and pay him to replace the fuse box,and maybe the windshield wiper motors, what a mess this is. Any suggestions, I will keep you posted on what the actual damage is.Does anyone know a good independent mechanic in the NJ area..

Got it sorted. Kind of obvious but the r7 relay was missing from the engine bay fuse box. I know that you would think that was obvious. However everything was working fine since I bought it and the relay was never there.
