noise from Engine
I'm not sure about the bearing but replacing the compressor is not hard. The problem is bleeding the refrigerant out and drawing a vacuum before you recharge it. I was able to do that with an extra filler hose (on the forums somewhere... "redneck air conditioner" or something like that) but it is better to have a shop do it (I guess. Mine works fine). My replacement compressor was used. About 29 bucks incl. shipping. It has worked for several years.
That's a hell of a deal on a compressor. Well if all else fails, you can swap the compressor out and leave the ac off and take it to a shop and they will usually charge $150-200 to pull a vacuum and charge it. If you have a set of manifold gauges or have any idea what you are doing a/c wise, you can rent the stuff from an auto parts store or get some from harbor freight. The only catch, when u open that system up, replace the drier and orafice tube. You should be able to watch a YouTube video on changing the bearing but I usually just got the route of replacing the compressor BC when one part starts going, it's only a matter of time before something else messes up on it
It has been awhile since I did it, but you can draw a credible vacuum from the port on the upper intake from the low pressure side. The tubing just goes in a cheapo cut filler gauge tube (one tunbng nests in the other). I don't know where that thread is or I would give you a link. Then fill it up with another filler gauge that comes with cans of refrigerant with oil. I'm not saying where my old refrigerant went. But that same cut filler would make a credible refrigerant evacuation tube to... wherever. I've done it a couple of times on different trucks. The result is very cold air for about 50 bucks. 80 bucks total if you include the compressor and 100 bucks total if you have to buy a cheapie socket set to do the whole thing.
But of you don't want to mess with it, just go to a shop and get it done presto fasto. I'd probably do that if I ever had to swap compressors again.

Removing the ac clutch pulley and replacing the bearing is a fairly easy job. If you haven't done before do a web search on replacing a ac clutch just to see how the pulley and clutch disc goes back on. Bearing needs to be pressed or banged out of pulley and you should be able to find one locally. They are also available on Amazon. Pulled mine off last year and repacked the bearing. Beats the hell out of changing the compressor.

I can find the Tensioner and small Idle from Rock Auto. But can't reference a replacement part for the 80mm.
Does anyone know Dayco or Gate reference part for the 80mm idler?
Thanks again
Thank you Juke179R.
