It would not accept the torque when I tried installing the head. It spun during the last sequence.

TIP: Against all the pundits and what they say, always, but always use a smear of anti-seize, copper grease or oil on the threads of head bolts or studs to reduce high load friction. Only smear a small amount onto the threads but certainly not a huge dollop as that may cause an airlock when tightening.
