Not even a flicker
Newbie here
2003 Discovery II with 20K miles
When bought the battery was not actually attacked to the frame although connections were solid and it ran well
A few months after securing the fairly new battery (tested and in top condition) and after which it was running well the rig stopped all activity
And by all, it is meant that not even a light will come on anywhere including instrument cluster
At this point it is impossible even to get it out of Park in my garage making difficult to have it towed to the local specialist ( No dealers in the region)
Any insight into a possible cause of the lights out event or how to render it "towable" onto a flatbed would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Take a pair of jumper cables, connect black cable to negative battery post and other end to the alternator bracket. See what you get. You can do the same with the red cable - positive battery terminal and lug on starter where batter cable attaches. Be carefull with the positive cable, don't want to do any welding. Do the negative first and then the positive if necessary. You might have a bad battery cable - visually inspect those. As far as moving the truck you can lift up the shifter bezel and push in the neutral interlock pin by hand.
SO the thing started right up with a standard jump ( Negative on the engine block). Ran for 20 minutes after disconnecting. Turned it off...and dead as the proverbial door **** again.
Not a flicker of juice to anything
Perhaps I should get a second opinion on the health of the battery.

stick a volt meter on the engine bay fuse box 'A' alternator terminal (big connector at front of fuse box)...should see something like 14v, if not, bad alternator....easy to replace...
sometimes, it's both alternator and battery that need replacing.....
