Default o2 sensors 2004 disco

i just bought two bwd oxygen sensors that i have spliced in to my original sensor harness.the universal have a black, grey ,white and purple wire.on the factory harness the wires are black, grey, white and white.i had no instructions,so i conected grey to grey, black to black, white to white and white to purple.
now i get codes p0135 and p0155 which are heater circuit malfuntions in bank 1 and 2.
my question is:did i wire these in right?does any one know what the two white wires are for on the original harness?
thanks

Did you wire these into the harness or the wire and plug assembly from your old 02's?

i think all we need to know is on the landrover plug, what the black, grey, white and white wires do.i have looked at the schematics and they do not distinguish whether the wires are ground, heater, ecu, etc.
spike usually has good answers that are not laden with sarcasm.
thanks
