Default Odd (maybe dumb) fuel door question

I've noticed that my fuel door doesn't seem to work like other cars. The release inside does release the door more than it is usually latched but the door is never "latched" very well. If it is latched with the little black snap clip (all of this is probably a bad description ...) you can still push lightly on the right side of the fuel door and it opens right up. It looks like the pin that is pulled in by the inside release has been corroded in the past but it does move smoothly. Even so, the black plastic clip still doesn't hold the door shut very tightly. Maybe I should just wait until I'm near a dealer and have it checked out as a warranty item, '04 SE7 with 18k miles. In this day and age, I'm a little concerned about gas siphoning!!! Thanks, Ken

you should be in warranty still, call the dealership and ask them about it. get it fixed for free.

I guess I'll just put this on the list for the next time I'm near a dealer. Just thought someone had seen this problem before since I'm at least 2-3 hours from the nearest dealer and neither of them are very reputable. Ken
