Looking into ordering an inline kit but was curious about this reusable gasket available in the accessories section. Does this work with the d2 kit or should I swing by the local parts store to see if I can track down the HP gasket?

Yes, the Fel-Pro gasket is for use with the kit. I will update the kit page today. Over the last several orders I had several people asking about extra elements, extra gaskets, etc. Best4x4 on the site here found the re-usable gasket at his auto parts store and spoke highly of it so I found one available from my supplier so I could provide it as an option as well. My website provider has struggled a bit to provide the options as add-ons to the main kits but I am still working with them on it and hope to have it sorted soon. The housings I use come with the paper gaskets, so the lowest cost solution for me is to provide two paper gaskets with the kit at no extra cost and they work fine for single use. Some of the guys who are troubleshooting other issues or are interested in swapping thermostat elements indicated they liked the re-usable gaskets so I added it to the site to increase the convenience, negating the need for a separate trip to the auto parts store or a separate order to Amazon or whoever.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for everyone's patience as we work through the site updates.

Hey I purchased this kit and am eagerly waiting the splice piece! Quick question: what is the thread size for the sensor port? I'm looking to buy an aftermarket coolant temperature sensor, and the one included in a kit I bought does not fit. If I don't hear back, I can head down to the hardware store later today and see if I get get it figured out.

1/4" - NPT is the thread size of the port.

Installed mine last week. Used a re-usable gasket and after some issues with poor hose clamp installation on my end, it's running very nicely. I can very clearly see the thermostat open on my Scanguage, right at 182 the temperature drops dramatically and I'm seeing ~4-5 degrees cooler across the board. Easy and a good mod, even though I wasn't seeing any real problems before, glad I did it.

Guess the reusable gaskets went out of stock since I don't see them anymore. Going to look for some silicone or swing by the store to try and grab a reusable one.

Yup there's one of each pretty close to me so I'm hoping I can find one at either store.

Guys, the Fel-Pro turned out to not be appropriate, but I am working on sourcing the Mr. Gasket silicone gasket as a replacement, should be up on the site by the end of the month. Advance carries them at the present, I am working on wholesale supply so I can offer them at a lower price.

This gasket worked fine for me. It's a pretty standard part, no leaking, will let you know if that changes.
