Default Oil Filter same as Ford FL1A?

Is the 4.0L (Disco 1) oil filter mount the same as a Ford FL1A? That's a really universal mount. My Toyota truck, JD lawn tractor, Jeep all use that mount. Other vehicles I've had in the past have used same mount/threads too - even Fords!I forgot to check until after I had the new filter on. If so, it opens up other possibilities. Thanks

I would check that I know the Mobil One oil filter I use will fit
a Jeep/Dodge trucks but not Fords.

The filter mount is indeed identical to the FL-1A. The K&N 3001 is a direct replacement for the FL-1A and the 3001 is the one recommended by many Rover folks as a better filter than the original. It is larger in capacity than the one specified for the Rover, but the seal, threads and ports are the same.

After you look around, still try and stay with either the Mobil 1 or the K&N 3001, between the filter media and the internal valves, these seem to be some of the best as far as the rovers go, mainly no dry starts after sitting awhile.
