oil leak(s)

Maybe replace the fill plug with a tapered steel drain plug. That is what older LRs used. Could be overfilled if leaking from there? Or fluid from the hubs leaking into the axle? Deep water?
I was lucky to succeed fixing a TC leak by adding 4 oz Blue Devil Rear Main stop leak. It was worth a shot to me.

It's bad if they get empty.

no water for this pavement princess... when I got it in 2021 (dec), I did all the fluids, belts, etc. new tires, brakes all around. the mechanic who did the fluids is
quite knowledgeable so I'm sure he filled it to the proper level. my bet is a plugged vent tube. on my list of to-dos...
the plastic fill bolt I can see not taking pressure too well...if it's a pressure issue with the vent, just putting the steel/brass one in may mask the real issue and
cause leaks at the pinion seal or axle end.

The side panel of the transfer case is a known spot for leaks, and seems to be almost impossible to seal. Steering box is also pretty common.
If you're trying to get a Rover to be permanently leak-free to avoid spots on your driveway then sure, chase them as much as you can but also just put down a pan to catch the inevitable drips.

from reading others with similar leaks, they said to check the vent hose on the axle.... mine is attached and runs out towards the drivers side wheel and goes up towards the engine bay. from pics I've found
they meet at the transmission housing and then route back on the passenger side to a J near the SAI pump. will have to do more checking here to see if the hose got melted and fused shut sometime in the
past.

After using the Blue Devil rear main seal product and driving a couple hundred miles, the oil is still dripping (few ounces a day) from the bell housing
where the tranny meets the engine. I was getting these drops over near the front passenger tire of late and thought it was the axle seal. But when
I inspected the CV boot and axle area on that side it was dry. The oil looks to be dripping from the bell housing on the tie rod going from the center
to the passenger wheel and then dripping from there.
So, next step, remove the peep hole cover on the torque converter and inspect for oil inside....meaning it is either the RMS, the plug on the end of
the camshaft or the crucifix seals..I guess....?
Does anyone know if you can see enough with a borescope in the peep hole to determine the leak source without dropping the tranny?
