Default Oil Light

My oil light came on after washing the engine. seems to run fine & does eventually go out. Any Ideas?... oil sending unit?

If it doesn't go out over the next day, I would suggest you track down the sensor and dry out the connection.

As long as you are not getting any noise it is probably safe to say it is the switch and not an oil pressure issue.

That was my thinking... a little to coincidental... I am in the military and work out of town durring the week so I won't have access to my workshop manual until this weekend. Will put it in the vehicle then!!!... Can you clue me in to where the sending unit is on the block and the route of the wiring harness?

Also want to thank the other folks for their knowledge and input in the forum. Great reading!

Look around where the oil cooler lines attach, right by the filter. Should be right above that. You can get a replacement at Autozone...

(This is for a D1, but a D2 should be close...)

Thanks... luv learning about my disco. Changed front drive shaft about a month ago. Gave me plenty of warning...paying attention was the key.
