Did the engine make a "tick-tick-tick" at low idle?

A new oil pump gears and cover at the least.....same happened to me at 83k miles. After HG job and this..I had no hope of ever having any confidence in the stock motor, I ended up tossing the motor for a rebuilt Tophat lined Cannibal V8...good luck

new oil pump, used cover, put it together and hope for the best. if there was enough metal to get into your rods and mains, there was enough to get to every other part and oil port in the engine also. Pump, cover flush and hope. if need be turner is blowing out top hatted 4.0 for less than $4k.
