Oil pressure gauge 03 D2
I have an 03D2 with no oil cooler. The front cover has the taps for oil cooler lines but, are plugged. So I'm wanting to add an oil pressure gauge. I am wondering which of the two plug holes to add the oil pressure gauge into. I think one is IN and one is OUT for an oil cooler. It also has a plug right above or below the oil pressure sensor that I could go into also but, not sure which one of the three holes to go into? So which one do I use? I am wanting to use one of the holes that I can tap right into with some type of common fitting and not have to do any threading or anything. Which one?

As far as the sandwich adapter, I thought about that. I'm wondering if that is what I should do. Actually I could add a cooler and still have one plugged port left unused, right above the oil pressure sender sensor, to add a gauge without using the sandwich adapter.Looks like that port would get the same pressure readings and the sender port. Not sure what that other plugged port was for. It is the same thread size as the sender unit. Anybody know the thread size of the sender unit? I would like a cooler, anything to help as I live in the south just north of new orleans and it get's some kind of hot down here. Would anybody know what that other unused plugged port was put there for? Also why did they (LR) decide not to use a cooler on the 03 04 ym? Was it just to cut cost or to keep the engine running hotter for emissions or? Anybody got a used cooler for sale with the lines for a decent price? And what brand oil pressure gauge and sender would you buy? Doesn't have to be anything fancy, I just want to monitor my readings and just a good basic gauge is good enough.
I'm sure Paul Grant could help you out with good used setup if that is the way you want to go, send him and email
why would they delete the oil cooler after increasing the size of the engine, who knows?
