Oil Pump
Hi all,
I am getting everything together to do Timming chain and gear replacment as I am long overdue (212,000 miles) plus the cover is leaking oil. My question is while I am there should I order new oil pump gears or leave well enough alone, the old saying if it aint broke dont fix it?

You always replace the gear when replacing the chain due to long term wear that will cause a new chain to wear faster.
Make sure to flush out the old Dexcool if you haven't yet and go green along with a new t/stat.

Sorry, I mis-read your thread, yes, do the oil pump and possibly the water pump if it has lots of miles on it, making sure to get rid of the Dexcool and replace the t/stat and coolant pressure cap cause they both disolve over time because of the Dexcool.
Do you have the new style upper radiator hose with the bleed screw located in the tee, if not, order that also before your fails.
