Gotcha. Yeah that makes sense. I really don’t think I have a HG problem, but I need to run a compression test to verify that.

Im confused on oil in the coolant. There’s not much evidence of that being a common rover V8 issue.

My oil is absolutely perfect. Even had it blackstone tested recently and it came back with no contamination whatsoever. Very puzzling.

But you’re still sure you have coolant in your oil? Could it be condensation? That would not be uncommon, especially in an engine that does frequent short trips.

I do not have coolant in the oil.

there is however, oil, in the coolant.

Oil is as clean as can be. No coolant contamination.

I’m not sure if oil can get in the coolant from the timing cover, but I know that coolant can get in the oil from it.

@Harvlr this is what my coolant reservoir looks like. No signs of coolant in the oil though.

It’s hard for me to tell from the photo, and I’m definitely not the expert here. If it’s only a few drops of oil I would keep driving it and monitoring it. Maybe Extinct will chime in here. He’s the coolant expert.
