With a 300Tdi in a 95 Disco I'm getting 30+ mpg - don't mean to make anyone jealous or anything......

Cool, brand new in the crate diesel engines, couple of cases of beer... Don't wake me up just yet.

Gas prices here in the States are forecasted to reach $4 a gallon by the end of the Summer. [:@]

Many thanks for the kind offer Darover but I think I'll pass on this occasion..... I'm waiting for a long road trip to see how the Roverdrive will increase it even more - must be over 35 mpgalthough I do get passed by the fully laden logging trucks on even the smallest inclines.

Here in Sacramento gas is about $3.60 per US gallon and it only seems to be going up.

Here's my solution: http://pics.livejournal.com/elhoff/pic/0000hs6h/g4

Bought it in January, 62MPG, and fun too! This is now my commute vehicle, with my Disco reserved for hauling, camping, off-road, etc.

Anyone looked into the LPGor CNGdual-fuel conversion? Seems to be pretty common in the UK. I wouldn't mind dropping a couple grand if I thought it would work. http://www.v8engines.com/faq-lpg.htm
