Which one should I use??
Ok squeaky front brakes after changing, I disasembled them and found that the one of the springs is not flared enough to push against the pad, its actually getting lodged in the hole the in the pad that the pins go through to hold the pads in place, thereby the pads are not being pushed apart hopefully causing the squeaking. I have found a solution to this with some aluminum washers, anyhow I am putting it back together and I have a decision to make, the new pins they sent me with the pads were longer than the ones in it..

I used the old ones last time, what I am wondering is what do you guys think, should I use the new long ones or reuse the rustly old ones??

Thats what I ended up using,
Kind of a design flaw with the "ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT" pads, the hole the pins go through is just a little big, it allows the spring to fall into the hole. Hope this solves the squeaking, I took the brakes temperature several times, and the the drivers side was running about 30 deg F hotter than the passenger, Drivers 250-280 Passenger 220-250 average. These numbers were taken after 20-30 minute commutes when the brakes had been obviously squeaking for a while. Of course those numbers were taken right after I parked.

That would never work for Spike!!! ha
Seriously though, I would use some emery cloth and clean up your old pins until you can call the supplier and tell them you new pins and springs don't fit.

Upon further though, the longer pins dont really have a downside. I did get a little bit of squeaking today upon road testing it for about 30 miles, but it was a fraction of what it was, barely audible.
The rotor temps were down as well, and basicly the same.
