Default One tail light not working - bulb okay

2003 D2 passenger side tail light is not working. Brake light works on both sides and driver side tail light works. Signals, headlights, fog lights all fine. Any suggestions for what may be the issue would be appreciated. I’ve changed the bulb out to new so it isn’t the bulb.

I had a similar situation years ago. I don't recall whether it was a tail light or a front parking light, but there was corrosion inside the bulb socket.

I recommend you take out the tail light assembly and carefully inspect it for corrosion.

Thanks for your reply. I plan to pull the tail light and check it and the wiring assembly that connects to the tail light and see if I can see any issues.

Light assembly looked fine and tested okay. Checked Rave for the wiring diagram and that tail light is fed from fuse 33 which was blown. Replaced and all is working.

Glad to hear it was that simple. But ...

Fuses don't blow for no reason. Don't want to rain on your parade, but there may still be a short that occurred randomly. If this problem reoccurs it will likely require more time consuming diagnosis of the circuit using a multimeter.

I hope for your sake that's not the case. Good luck.

Min, I’m not wanting to contradict you, but 20+ year old fuses do occasionally blow for no apparent reason. If it blows a second time you need to figure out why.

Interesting. I've not seen that, and I'm not saying its not possible, but I don't understand what would cause that to happen.

Regardless of that, I'll keep my fingers crossed that Bcrane's truck is good to go and the fuse does not blow again.

Fuses become fragile over time through multiple cycles of heating and cooling.
