Specific Amigos Scenario - need help.
Bought a 99 with three amigos. Got it scanned and found that it was a wheel speed sensor. I cleaned and re-seated the sensor and the amigos went away and everything worked. Exciting! This lasted about 3 key cycles and then I started getting the lights back, but this time in a different way. Here's what happens:
When I turn the key to position 2, all the cluster lights illuminate, when they shut off, the ABS light stays on, the HDC and ETC lights turn off briefly, while the ABS pump cycles, pulsing the pedal (self test) which must fail because the HDC and ETC lights then turn back on.
I'm thinking that the pulse test failing must be indicative of something and I don't personally have a scanner, so it costs money everytime I want a scan.
And a side question, I have a suspicion my brakes aren't bled properly. Could that cause the key on test to fail? Is doing all 4 corners by jumping the ABS relay going to give me a proper bleed like a nanocom would ?
Thanks for the help!

Suggest you get the icarsoft i930 for LR from Amazon, it will scan all the brake and trans codes. iCarsoft i930 Pro Multi System Diagnostic OBD2 Scanner for Landrover/Jaguar ABS SRS https://a.co/d/dnN0e5j
First, welcome to the forum, Nomadsoul. I see starting this thread was your first post here.
It's well known here that wheel speed sensor (WSS) faults are very, very often caused by problems with the electrical connectors between the WSS and the self-leveling and anti-lock braking system (SLABS) computer located behind the glovebox.
You don't say which WSS was indicated when you had the codes read, but I recommend unplugging, cleaning, and reconnecting all the connectors leading from the WSS to the SLABS, including the connector at the SLABS itself. I use QD Electronic Cleaner.

If you don't have the Discovery II Workshop Manual you can download a free PDF copy from the link in my signature below. If you don't have the Electrical Library and Electrical Circuits PDFs you can google those titles and download them free also.

I'd reaIly love to know what exactly is being checked when the truck does this ABS pump cycle when turning the key on. I imagine some people don't notice it happening because a specific condition hasn't been met in my case that's making it do the test.
It will do both of those. Also reads transmission codes and status on newer LR's anJags.
