Yeah, things from Turner through DHL get here rather quickly.

First night with the new 2004. This was back on June 19th. At this point I was hoping for a head gasket job only.

You're going to have a far far better truck than new. The difference in power, just with the H180 Cam , is dramatic. As long as the shop is quality and stands behind their work, you're going to be very happy.

Turner is going to send you a book, make sure the mechanics fill it out.

Thanks! I am pumped. Yeah, from the very beginning I had a feeling I would be putting a new engine in. My best case scenario was to build up some other stuff that probably needs replacing on the last legs of the original engine if possible. However, I am happy to get a clean start.

Yeah, the shop I am using is a Land Rover shop and he has done many engine swaps on Discos and Defenders. The guy is super enthusiastic and great to work with. He was very patient in me making up my mind about selecting from Atlantic British vs Turner and giving me many options and talking things over with me.

Glad you got a good mechanic.

Now get the Rocker covers painted to match the truck! Seems like you like to wrench. Also, dismantle and clean the inside of the covers, mine were filthy.

Make sure they dismantle the valve covers and clean out the oil separator. Mine was caked full of old oil the was almost the consistency of cake.

I’m sorted of guessing that caused my rear seal to start leaking on install.

i’m considering the fram 308 PCL valve mid this time around.

Man, that engine was clean inside. My 03 looked nothing like that. To bad, she let loose.

Yeah, it would run strong for about 5 min then overheat and boil over hot and fast.
