Original D2 Lug Nut question
I have been searching the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer.
If I take the covers off of the factory lug nuts, can I then use them this way (without the covers?
I have some that are stretched/damaged and was wondering if I removed all the covers (for a uniform look) would they be OK to use this way?
Thanks!

I don't think the problem is always the Lug Wrench, I've got the exact right socket, but I find moisture gets under the thin cap and rest starts deforming it so that the socket doesn't fit right anymore. I don't think there's a good solution though since the lug nuts are pretty unique from what I've seen.

Thanks for all the replies.
So they will work (if I can find the correct size lug wrench) and will look ugly (don't really care as my Disco is bed liner painted on the roof and hood).
Mike, I did not damage them and being a 2000 they have held up pretty well over the years.
The tire shop I used, American Tire screwed up some of them and now I either need to spend the $$ on replacements or go the cheap way and remove the caps.
Anyone know what size socket I would need with the caps removed?
