Default Ouch!

Here's the picture of my transmission that some of you wanted to see. Drive shaft failure and the end result. I bought this vehicle in this condition but Chancho will have a new tranny and drive shaft very soon.

Ouch is right! If it was me I'd get a new rear main seal in there when you install the tranny as well.

Replacing the engine rear seal and the front and rear tranny seals as well as the front t/case seals. Will then flush out the tranny cooler lines and use Vavolines high mileage Dextron when refilling the tranny.

Mike recommended the above so that's what I'm going to do.

Thank you also 98RG for the advice.

Does anyone know a one stop shop for the above seals? Thanks!

The seals are rather inexpensive and the dealers have them in stock most of the time. Just an idea.

If all of the pieces are there you may beable to fix it with JB Weld, others have dont it with success.

Mike and I already talked about that but what you see is what you get. Not much other than a huge gash.

We had a guy on here fix his hole with JB Weld and it worked great.
He too bought a DII with a busted tranny, JB'd it and drove it until other problems forced him to trade it for a DI.
As long as all the pieces are there you can patch it, it wont look pretty but who cares?

That's the problem. There are no pieces left. There on the road somewhere in Austin, Texas. LOL
