No I didn't.. I think I looped two cable ties around the clutch shaft/assembly, then looped two ties around two fan blades opposite each other and through that loop, kinda like a bridle, and then pulled it all up tight and trimmed.. I did wonder if they would melt and break off over time.. But nylon seems pretty hardy..

It was my mates landy and I did the fix somewhere in Albania.. He sold it six months later so I don't know if it was ever fixed.. Long term i would probably pulled out the part and tried to either service it or replace it..

Yeah.. Tried this fix purely on a hunch.. Nothing else made sense about the problem.. And yeah the fan was spinning all the time.. Keeping everyone stumped..
