2000 Disco 2 approx 150,000 miles.
My disco is throwing the P0455 code. I have done a bunch or reserch and I'm currently working on gas cap replacement and or purge valve issues. My question is: Could bad/low octane gas have any effect of this code?
I put some ****ty 87 octane gas from a cheapo gas station in my truck last week and i've got a tiny hint of engine knock on start up. I usually run 92. Yes I'll throwing some 94 Octane in there very soon but i'm wondering if the cheapo low otcatane gas woold have any effect of the P0455 code? Any thoughts? Thanks fior any fedback.
I know the code has something to do with feul vapor leak but would bad also be to blame or are they not related at all?

I just had this code. I had replaced the gas cap and the code went away for about two months, but then came back. This last time I replaced the purge valve and it has not come back in about a month. If I understand correctly, carbon build up gets in the purge valve and lodges in there so as to keep the valve stuck open. Lower octane gas I guess could maybe create more carbon deposits on that valve causing it to stick open and therefore getting the code. I believe the hyundai replacement purge valve actually has a filter on it to prevent this from happening.
