1. 455 code is for a leak in the emission system see attached from Bosch tech guide

2. Other codes are misfire, number one problem is wire and plugs. Attached pages for that.

Thanks, SB. I hope this will help me diagnose the problem. Can you help me understand the relationship between the evap leak and the misfires?

Final solution was the crankshaft position sensor, i think. We went through a lot in the shop (never replaced the fuel pump, never found any emissions leak), including two new O2 sensors (which were fine before - no codes), the CPS, an injector service (which prob effed up the 02 sensors), a shiny new gas cap (I still occasionally get the large leak detected CEL, but i care at this point) and a confirmed pressure test to rule out my recent top end reseal as having any part in all this.

So far so good, been about two months. Give it time, im sure something else will start looking for my credit card.

Tom,

In my case, there was no relationship that I could see. The large leak was common and trivial, and then my crank sensor started to give out and ultimately failed.

Tom, you need to quit throwing money away. How many miles on it, what brand of plugs and wires did you use?
Be specific and if you want more help, send me your number and I'll call you today.

Well of course problem came back. New code this time, a vendor specific that indicates "misfire at low fuel level" or something. And Cyl 8 misfire. So Im almost certain its the fuel pump at this point; this was the first time since last posting that i let the tank drop down that far. And the tank is NEVER pressurized; I never hear that release of vapor that I should hear especially if the tank is low. Ill likely replace it myself, once i feel like ripping out all the carpet in back to get to the access port, and after I verify which one i need (w/o secondary air, black connector on top??).

I saw your reply to another user, and was hoping to get some advice. I had no problems with my truck at all, and walked out yesterday and it won't start. It cranks strong, but does not fire. Sprayed starting fluid into the throttle body, and nothing. A friend read the codes for me P0455, P1175, & P1591, but I am getting conflicting advice from google.

I would appreciate any advice.

Kind regards,

Steven Green
