Bad Misfire and Rough idle Flashing SES
2 Months Ago Bought a 2004 Disco II
had a bad misfire, ses light on constanty, but flashes on idle and sometimes whilst driving, but it is always on, never goes off. changed all the following and now it seems worse!
Replaced the following with new.
Bosch Plugs
coil packs
Kingsbourne 8mm wires
Intake manifold gasket
new cats
Plenum gasket
o2 sensor
valve cover gaskets
Upper O2 sensors
the misfire went away when i drove over 50mph, then it would run lovely
help!!!! its driving me crazy and making me broke!

Having codes read would help, parts stores do it for free.
When it is very dark outside, open hood and watch for small sparks at idle around coils, wires, wire boots, spark plugs. A light show is a problem.
Hopefully no coolant loss, white smoke from tail pipe, etc. which can be head gasket or cracked block leaking coolant into combustion chamber.
Would also want to check knock sensors on each side of engine to be sure they and their wires are tight.
Could be a CKP (crank shaft position) sensor with metal fuzz on the tip of it or a bent tip. On a D2 the reluctor disk is a drilled unit, so no bent teeth to deal with like on older models.
We feel your pain....
