Default P1590, p0327, p0430, p0150, p1174, p0174

Need some help guys, and I just joined this forum so forgive me if this topic has been answered before.

I have a 2003 land rover discovery II with 111,000 miles that I bought last year and I was needing to take it in to get an inspection, but of course couldn't because of the codes listed above. I researched some of these codes, but I couldn't even tell you where to start as far as fixing the problem. Any advice would be great...once again I'm far from a mechanic so go easy on me guys and laymen's terms preferably. Thanks.

1590 - error signal from SLABS unit (search for three amigos)
0327 - one of your knock sensors is unplugged or dead
0430 - right hand catalytic converter no longer efficient, may need new one
0150 - front right hand OI2 sensor outside of spec - replace both
0174 - right hand bank lean (most likely O2 sensor, could also be vac leak)
1174 - right hand bank lean and computer cannot compensate

The shop manual is called the RAVE, and is a free download below. About six lower lumbar strains and you'll be able to afford the mechanic.

Thanks. This looks like there isn't going to be an "affordable" way around this is there?! I'd take 6 lumbar strains if it'd pay for my bill!

Fair enough. Do you remember what lumbar level that you strained? L1, L2, L3,L4, L5? Multiple levels? They can be tedious because you're constantly utilizing those muscles for stabilization.

I researched on O2 sensor replacement and it looks like it can be done if I try. Any advice on what tool to use? Crescent wrench or the actual O2 wrench?

for o2 it is a good idea to let it soak a bit in some break free junk, they can sometimes be pretty stubborn. I use PB blaster

Gotcha. What tools did u find the most useful? The dealership was charging $200 per sensor and were trying to make it sound like it's tough to do...I assumed they just wanted to make an extra buck. I'm all for getting business, but at least be honest. They also charge $135/hr for labor. Yikes.

o2 wrench is ideal. there is the higher risk of stripping with an open end. That being said, I have used an adjustable wrench without incident.

3/8 or 1/2 for the O2 wrench? I've heard yes's for both actually.

Amen on the PB Blaster.

And mine was multiple, and I have a DVD of the MRI, which proves I'm not the spineless skunk many believe.
