Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the roller once in place. Here's a screen shot of the 3D model to give you an idea.

The printer produces parts out of ABS. ABS glue is essentially natural ABS dyed yellow, and diluted with acetone.

The end result is a little rough looking but it works well. Just put a very thin coat of vaseline on the rivet and metal arm so the wheel doesn't adhere to it.

Put the two halves of the new wheel in place and place a single drop of acetone in between them.

If it does adhere to the rivet, don't touch it, but wait for the ABS to harden again and then force the roller to turn. It will break the bond, especially if the shaft was coated in vaseline. Then apply a generous serving of aerosol lubricant all over.

If you're interested, I'd be willing to print eight complete wheels for you for 20$ including shipping. It's about one hour of work setting the printer up and removing the printed part afterward, then a quick stop at the post office to ship it. Cost of material is negligible. Just PM me if you're interested.

Sounds very tempting. Give me a few days to open up the door panel and see if it is, in fact, those small wheels what are broken.

Thanks a lot for your guidance with this project.

And now if anyone could give me an idea for replacing the Alpine radio with some other radio that has a monitor that i could connect it to a back camera... sighs

sent you a PM on purchasing 8 rollers. Desperately need them as both pass and driver side windows don't work because of broken rollers.

The other issue I have found is the curved rack center pivot wears loose abd the curved gear rack rides over the motor driving gear. It happens on the drivers side more often due to getting a lot more useage ............... damn toll booths caused this, over use ................ I had to replace my regulator due to this problem

For those who are interested in replacing only the rollers they can be bought at the following address :https://www.shapeways.com/shops/Lowest_Bidder

The parts are printed professionally by Shapeways in NY and the two halves are glued together over the metal rivet. One part is 11.52$US and there is enough to replace three (3) rollers. The fit is perfect and the plastic is very strong. I used JBWeld to glue the two halves together after cleaning them thoroughly with rubbing alcool. The rollers in the picture are black, but the actual parts will be white because it's a little less expansive to print in white.

Excellent, thanks for going the extra step and all the testing you did with the beta 3D print rollers. I'm ordering these up today and will wait for the cold to break so I can install them. I'm pretty sure these are going to be a big hit in the rover forums. Ask them to sticky your product on the forum. BTW, I got your PM on here, just thought I'd reply to the thread instead.
