Default Pending code P0441

All,

looking for some guidance on what to look for next to solve my P0441 code on a 04 D2. I searched but didn’t find anything that seemed useful. The code first appeared a month or so ago when I got to about 1/4 tank.

Replaced the purge valve with a Hyundai unit and put in a new oem gas cap. all was well for amount a month. Around 1/4 tank this week I get a pending P0441 code. Not sure if there is a connection between the code being thrown when I reach 1/4 tank. Any idea what could be causing the P0441 code if a new purge valve was recently fitted?

thanks

Carlo

LOL, I got the same code just in time for smog. Reading here in the threads, some people report cleaning the gas tank bung with scotch brite the fixed the problem.
I just got a new Hyundai purge valve, hopefully that was the problem. Also the small brass tubing in the intake manifold is lose. I can pull it out easily with the hose of the purge valve. I have to make sit it tight again, otherwise this is a potential intake leak.

I have you beat. The P0441 code first started on my way to smog the car so that I could register it (out of state purchase)

I installed the new purge valve, the brass tubing sit tight and cleaned the gas tank bung. So far no codes. Ordered a new fuel cap, since the gasket on the old one feels quite hard.

My D2 throws that code about every two weeks or so, if I end up sitting i park in one spot for too long.

So I just got a pending P0441 with the new purge valve again. Waiting on the new tank cap.

An update - I drove the D2 with the pending code P0441 for about a week expecting for the code to materialize into a SEL. Shortly after starting the truck each day, I'd get the annoying alert on the UG of the pending code. However, one morning when I went to drive the truck the pending code alert never materialized on the UG. All has been good so far and I'm crossing my fingers it stays that way.
