Default Code P0455

Hey everyone,

Long time no see! I was here about 6 months ago scouring for all the info I could find to do HG's on my 02 D2. That went (surprisingly) really well! I haven't had any issues since, at least in terms of my HGs or losing any coolant. I still lose some oil from my oil pan gaskets, but it's not bad.

Recently, I noticed I was losing a ton of water and steam out of the bottom of my car near the engine. I could hear it sizzling (probably on the cats) after I turned my engine off. Then, last week, I got into my car in the morning to find my service engine light on. I got my codes read and I had one for super lock (but then I checked again and it was gone--I wasn't aware of any problems other than the fact that none of my locks unlock besides the front two.)

I got a code P0455 -- Evaporative emission system leak detected (gross leak/no flow). I cleared it today and it hasn't come back, but I just let it idle for a few minutes so it very well may be back tomorrow.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks for your help!

On my 01 Disco 2, I've had the p0455 code for over a month or 2. Replaced gas cap and the code came back. finally I changed out the purge valve and it fixed the p0455 code. 300 miles since i've replaced it. no code yet, knock on wood.

I used the Dorman/Canister Purge Valve part # 911-800 for Hyundai.

The purge Valve is located just under the ICV and behind the throttle body.
