Phantom door unlocking!!
Something is telling the doors to unlock. Problem has been around for awhile according to PO. Battery needs to be disconnected each night or the battery will be dead in the morning.
Symptoms-- After the disco has been turned off for a few hours, unlocked, the pass side rear door lock tries to unlock. The exterior lights flash with each attempt of the phantom unlocking. If I push the pass side rear door lock down, locking it, "it" unlocks in about ten seconds. Then continues to unlock over and over until the battery is dead.
Alarm appears to function correctly when activated with the fob.
Rear doors and tailgate lock/unlock with central lock and fob.
I'm obviously going to look at the rear pass door lock for a problem, but "what" is telling it to unlock???

Could be switch on end of the driver door lock, or the cable to it in the harness that bridges from frame to door. According to the RAVE electrical circuits manual and electrical library there is a connector under the driver side kick panel. May be easier to get at that than pull off the door panel. A lot of activation circuits work by grounding a particular wire. So a skinned place or green goop corrosion at any spot along the cable will do the same.

Would a faulty inertia switch cause something like this? Like it's been in an accident and is unlocking the doors? My guess is alarm related, BCU... If I start removing fuses and remove any that correspond to the alarm, do I run the risk of screwing something up? I removed the door lock fuse and the lights still flashed but did not want to continue removing fuses and mess up the alarm.
This is going to be like trying to find a mouse turd in a pile of snow...easy to spot once you find it, but a PITA until you do!!!

Door unlock by inertia switch is for when doors are locked, and engine is running. So would not expect this to be the issue at night.
Would not be unplugging fuses without knowing exactly what they support, from the drawings in the RAVE.
The driver door lock has two wires that it grounds to make the doors lock/unlock. They are blue with green and blue with gray (slate). They pass thru connectors inside the kick panel left of the driver's feet. Photos are in the RAVE electrical library on page 418 of 705.
The key fob receiver sends a signal down thru the passenger kick panel to get to the body control module, it is on pin 7 of connector C0485. Says Purple slate in one place in the RAVE, and purple orange in another.
So it would be possible to dosconnect some wires and by process of elimination make it stop.
You can pull fuse 1 under dash and door locks should stop working.

Check me if I'm wrong Buzz.... RF receiver goes to pin 3 on C0484 on drivers side kick panel, then on to C0661 pin 5 at the BCU??? That might be the confusion for the color codes. PS vs. PO.

The line drawing electrical schematic shows it as PS (purple slate). But as you move along the connectors it shows PO (purple orange) on C0480 and C0485 (both pin 7) and PS at C0674-1 and C0661-5. That is from the connector details in the electrical library.
I'm reading the PO wire from C0480-7/C0485-7 goes to C0666-4 on the battery back-up...(which could be causing the issue perhaps)
PurpSlate C0674-1 goes to C0665-1 stopping off at C0484-3/C0102-3
So when do I get to start cuttin' wires??? And most importantly, what would the steps be?? Disconnect battery, one or both terminals etc...

I'm so sorry, only read half the post. The rear door gets an unlock signal from the relays on back of the fuse panel, controlled by the IDM. All the door motors (except driver) are in parallel at a couple of header connections. And if that is connector is full of corrosion or water that could be a problem. What I described to you was things that operate all the doors. The headers are C0292 pin 9 and C0761 pins 9 & 7. I'll attach pix.
The C0761 is in the console where spilled liquids can happen.
There is also a plastic cover on the door pillar that conceals some wires connections.
The fuse panel and built in relays could be a fault as well.
If stray current is being applied to all the door locks at the same time, it may be just weak enough to activate only the most sensitive one. If you remove it, it electrically reduces the load, so another may start acting up.
There was a reason this was not a quick fix.
