The 50230 was the cam that I was enquiring on but did not know about the shaving part. I may go with the 229 myself, have you picked your up yet?
Same lifters and thanks about the ARP info, one less thing to enquire about.
What are you doing about vavle springs? I'm now looking into the 68405-1 from Crower.
Yes, I have the cam, lifters, and head-studs in the garage on my workbench. I had the machine shop do the block and fit the new pistons, it was the only way he would even agree to do the work- refused to put used pistons in a rebuilt block! I respected that and the price was right from Turner. Same guy did the heads and rockers, said I was fine there and they were in good shape. My truck has 103k on it prior to the build, and I rebuilt my original block/heads rather than doing a core exchange. Stick with the devil you know, right?

Aside from the Crower cam & lifters and the ARP studs, this was my parts-list from Turner:

When you ordered your cam did you get in direct from Crower? When I talked to them they mentioned they would have to machine the front shorter to work with our engines, did you get that done by them or was it already done. I wish I knew about Turner sooner but my block is sleeved now so on to the next step. I have 2 engine rebuilds going right now. One is just slap together and the other is the full on rebuild which is my finally engine. We have not driven our truck since purchase due to bad timing cover dumping coolant in to the oil pan and wiping out the bearings. The truck is like show room condition and at a steal of a deal price ($1500) which leaves alot of room for rebuild and custom gear.

I got the cam direct from Crower. Did my research online and over the phone talking to Mark & PT. I never talked to anyone at Crower, just did online checkout.
