Buy the staples for 26bucks and heat them with a turbo tourch

^not a bad idea. Just can't let my wife see that, I almost have her convinced I can't live without the tool!

LR main agents/bodyshops can resurface the matt finish on a damaged bumper outer casing to an invisible quality finish provided the structural repair behind is sound. It works out far less expensive than a new outer bumper casing.

Man, the gadgets keep coming!

I bought the Eastwood hot melt stapler, that will be the structural repair.

But what you just posted looks great for filling the crack.

I think I will do the staples then use a chemical filler like JB weld or bondo.

Does anybody have any better ideas for filler?

I usually reinforce 2 part epoxy (mainly because I always have it available for woodworking, but works and sands perfectly on plastic, too) mixed thinner so easier to get a more complete fill than jbweld.
after that I like jb over bondo because of the size of the filled surface (usually a narrow repair).
