Play DVDs while driving
I'm looking at the Pioneer AVH--3500NEX. Really like this single din unit and very much like the idea of being able to play DVDs as well as videos stored on usb storage units. Like all of these types of units, they will not play video while driving. There are several fixes for this, ranging from a switch that grounds the hand brake after the unit is powered on. There are several other options. Which do you consider the best option for this radio? They all seem to vary in cost and complexity and I'm not sure if Pioneer has made this modification more difficult than in older radios. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

David... do you like your Rover?... at all?
The statement 'There are several fixes for this, ranging from a switch that grounds the hand brake after the unit is powered on' leads me to believe that you are not afraid of electrical gremlins in any shape or form. That statement, for me, brings on heart palpitations, a sweaty brow and nightmares that typically reoccur when I'm feeling stressed and out of control.
And you think I'm joking.
If I ever get to the point where I can start thinking about 'extracurricular activities' in the Rover such as installing a swanky DVD player and a switch that grounds the hand brake, I will be one ecstatic being. Until then, I will work on the basic mechanicals such as changing out the serpentine belt, power steering pump and spark plugs while watching DIY car repair videos on my kindle from the passenger seat in my garage...
