Played out Auxilary Fan Motor Question
So heres the sitch. My D2 sat for the winter pending diagnosing overheating during the first storm of Wisconsin winter. It was between troubleshooting something that I am not ready to do and my ladie's D1 wheel bearing/brake upgrade. I chose to do the D1 instead of the D2 to make it through winter. Luckily, it wasn't a headgasket, front cover leak, or anything major. It was a simple water pump replacement that I was in possesion of. The first nice day in April I was able to swap it out with my Father in Law (Supervising), and a dirtbag buddy of mine willing to lend his clean hands to be grimed up. I have been driving it for a couple weeks now, and I noticed right away that I was not at my pleasant 188 F for which we all have come to love the sight of on our Ultra Guages. After thinking critically for about 2-3 hours whilst walking the dogs it occured to me that it could be a clogged radiator, air still in the system from being bleed, and or unknown thing I have yet to learn about Discos.
Turns out, it was the unknown thing that I did not know about, the seizing up of the auxiliary fan motor. I originally thought that maybe I ran a bit warm when I got the vehicle initally that the winch and placement of the LED lights were blocking air flow, but alas, I realize now that the auxiliary fan motor might of been seized up for a while. I am displeased by my foolishness. I checked the 40 Amp fuses blown, I checked the fan blade movement, stuck.
I have been searching some older forums that outline the following replacement in kind with minor adjustments:
Siemens VDO brand PM9116
Four Seasons 35110
AC Delco - 1580341/
NAPA-BK 6552105
and the illusive: Engine Cooling Fan Motor Right TYC 630260 Fits 98 - 99 Toyota Corolla
I know repeat questions are played out but I am in a pickle and I am currently pulling up a fat goose egg on sourcing this motor.
Hopefully there is a more recent information on how to source these motors.
Paying full price for a fan unit seriously would make for a frustrating evening for me...
This is for an 03-04 Discovery 2
EDIT: When I mean source, I mean locally in the area.
Update:
At the local Advanced Auto all referenced part numbers above link to Carquest PN 35110

Perfect fit ordered From Amazon. Only thing thing extra was to swap over the connector from the old motor.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the amazong specific motor would not be delivered until April 30th. Logistics have been totally bogged down as a result of the pandemic, and it kind of sucks. So I had to go with the 4Seasons motor. I might be a bozo, but I knew I would have to trim a bit of the fan going into this project, however I am not really quite sure specifically where people have been "trimming" the fan. I haven't compared the size of the two motors, and I will go do that but it doesn't feel like it needs much trimming. The fan blades don't seem to be rubbing at all. I think there might be some rubbing on the base of the fan that is touching the shroud?
