Please help...tranny fluid.
i used castrol atf domestic dexron 111. Is this the right stuff. It says dexron 111.
I know this isn't that hard to do, but I seem to be having a problem. Last week I changed the tranny filter. Because my fluid was so dirty I was doing an additional 2 changes.
This morning I drained the trany fluid let sit for about 30 min. So the pan was drained.
I pumped, I believe 3 quarts back into he engine when it started to leak ut the filer hole.
This is where it gets interesting. The out pouring was gooey, Could this have been because it was cold out or because of any air that may have been put in from the pump.
I then started the truck, put through gears P and R 3 times. Went under the truck added another 1 quart. Again the flow out of the filler seemed cgooey. Not the smooth bead I had last week.
all in all only 4 quarts of atf went back in. I read through the forum there should be 6. And why would it be gooey. Please help so I could get her n the road
