I think 'head gasket' is the Rover mechanics' go-to diagnosis for pretty much everyone who rolls in with a Discovery 2.

 

Losing compression at the heads or so was told... I mean they were basically like its the head gasket and its a lot to fix. Car is kind of a rust bucket anyway so we agreed it didn't make sense to put the money in. So i picked up a 2006 LR3 mint locally.
