The Rave also states brake likes should be replaced every 8 years I think. That seems like a bigger deal than airbags IMO. They're used waaaay more lol

They're also not several thousand dollars to replace

So does the SRS warning light turn on after 10 years? I have heard of other cars doing so.

IMO I align this with the neurosis of litigation in the same way as food products and the 'best before' dates and 'sell by' or 'use by' dates. I honestly believe it's to protect the manufacturers from potential litigation and claims. In all honesty, I've eaten yogurt's that are a month past their dates with no ill effects. If one thinks about it logically, why would an SRS airbag suddenly cease to function properly on it's 10th anniversary, it defies logic unless it has built in 'self destruct' mechanism.

Like the outfit Dusty, could come in useful but it looks a bit 'pervy'.

agree, I like the smell test as opposed to the use by date. my bags smell fine....
hmm.... maybe I can get a srs sniff tester helmet, instead.


this one should work, fine.
