A 3amp fuse won’t burn up that wire. It might have been sized to protect the pump or solenoid (valve? They call it a solenoid in RAVE).

Yeah I read the section in the RAVE about it and there is a thermal switch to protect stuff. I just wondered if going to a 5A fuse until new 3A fuses arrive is a bad idea.

Check the wires that go up the pivot points of the seats. I've seen several D2's with those wires torn and shorting out on the seat frame. Power Lumbar and the heat elements

While 3 to 5 amp isn’t a huge difference, circuits are fused to protect the wiring, not the appliance. IMO you should fix the problem, not change fuses. You may well get away with it though.

You are right, but in this case, that wire is heavy enough to use a 5 amp. Sometimes the fuse is sized to protect both.

Thanks, guys. I’ve ordered some 3A fuses as I am firmly of the belief that going to a larger fuse is in most cases a REALLY bad idea.

So then, I still need to check:
- wiring to make sure there isn’t a short getting caused
- probably clean up the tracks and scrolling for a few of the adjustments and such

I might have addressed the possible short inadvertently when I pulled out the seat when I did the dash, but that will be confirmed when the 3A fuses come in.

I doubt I’ll be driving it for a bit as I’m waiting for plugs to possibly address a single cylinder misfire, and I think my “new” T stat (couple years old) is sticking or being wonky so I might have to swap that.

I’ll report back when the fuses come in and I drive it a bit more. This is ONLY for the lumbar pump- all other functions are perfect to include heated seats.
