Default Power steering fluid

Changing my Ps pump on an 03 what fluid should we run as drain out the old stuff

Typical power steering fluid.... like Valvoline. DON'T use transmission fluid!!

Thanks it was topped off with transmission fluid when the pump let go in the parking lot at work

Don't just drain the fluid out, do a proper flush and if you don't know how, after you buy 4 quarts of p/s fluid and some sort of a hand pump, shout and I will walk you thru the process.

Thanks I will do that, getting a pump from Harbor freight. I'm hoping to this tomorrow night, I will PM you then.

Thats the wrong way to change the power steering fluid, just remove the return hose from the tank, stick it into a empty gallon jug, have a friend start the engine, you keep the system full, watch the hose, once clean fluid comes out shut off the engine, put hose back, top off system, done.
15min.
You will need 2qts of power steering fluid.
And you can use Dexron III if you want to, its just hydraulic fluid.
