Yeah, that pump sounds like it is dying.

Or the fluid is very low.

reservoir was full when this happened. The leak is small. So pretty sure it is the pump. I got my replacement pump in the mail (Kudos paul grant and USPS) and I have changed it out. Tomorrow, I'll fill and bleed the system and hopefully it will be OK.

Truck is all good again! Thanks for everyone's help. The $100 pump from Paul worked like a charm. It was pretty easy to do, especially since I had had experience removing the fan before and where all the parts work. 3 hours start to finish.

Glad you fixed the problem. I had a leak where the hose connects to the reservoir. I disconnected the hose cut about 3/4" off the hose and put it back onto the reservoir. Problem fixed. Didn't have to buy a new hose.

I know i'm responding to an old thread but it seems like the problem was similar to mine. My pump is whining too. I'm also leaking fluid quickly. So, my question is, what is the problem? Is it the pump that is bad AND leaking? Or is the pump bad and I have a bad hose?

The pump whines even when i fill it up. If the pump didn't whine when i filled it up, I would think it was a hose leaking. Help.

well, not sure how much I can help you, but what I did was spray all the hoses with brake fluid to make sure they were clean and then see where the leak was coming from. In my case it was relatively easy to see it was dripping from the pump.
